It is with great pleasure I welcome you to Gayton Primary School. We are very proud of our school and its community.
Gayton Primary is a happy and welcoming school. We promote a family atmosphere, where each person is actively encouraged to show care and interest in the welfare of others. This is reflected in the attitude of our children and all those connected with the school, as well as being central to all school policies and values. Our mission is to nuture ‘positive minds’ so as to create ‘positive futures’ for all of our pupils.
As a school, we promote high standards of achievement and attainment for all our pupils and encourage them to become creative and critical learners. We want them to embrace the skills that will allow them to thrive in a rapidly-changing world, while being aware of their rights and responsibilities to ensure the well-being of others.
We offer a stimulating and imaginative curriculum which is designed to engage, challenge and develop curiosity and a love of learning for all our children. Our school’s Vision Statement of “…seek to provide a well-balanced education which will develop and extend the whole child, ensuring the highest standards of attainment and personal growth…” reflects our commitment to improve the provision for all of our pupils.
We hope that you will find this website informative and helpful in providing you with a real feel for our happy school. If you have any queries, please do get in contact with us.

Well done to our headteacher award winners.
Our F2 and KS1 children absolutely loved visiting the Christmas shop on Friday. Massive thanks to our wonderful PTA for organising this event and making it such a success. KS2 can’t wait to visit on Friday.
Huge thanks to all our families who supported the @NEOCatering Christmas toy appeal. We are so grateful to everyone who donated and know that these will presents will spread happiness and joy.
Wow @Y4Gayton these are looking very impressive!
In art, we are creating magic show posters. Today we were practising using water colours to create a 3D effect. It was trickier than it looked, but we will learn from our mistakes in our 10 minute attempts. Next step is to paint Abdul Kazam’s fez!
We have been learning about democracy in Ancient Athens and in the UK. We held a debate to decide whether we would choose Athens or Sparta if we were to travel back in time to 400BC. The quality of debate and the level of listening and respect much higher than in Parliament! https://t.co/JL6GxCw1Ij
