Covid-19 update

1st April 2022
Dear parents/carers,

Please find attached a letter with the latest covid-19 updates for school settings.

From today, children only need to isolate for 3 days and can return to their school setting on the 4th day as long as they are well enough and do not have a temperature.

Due to the change in guidance, we will be updating our remote learning policy and will now just provide 3 days of general work that will be available on Tapestry (F2) and Google Classroom (Y1-Y6). We will not be providing any Google meet (live) sessions for children as the work load for staff is not sustainable and also children will no longer be absent from school for very long. The work is only available for children who are off school as they have tested positive for covid-19.

Parents will not be able to take their child for a PCR test anymore as all community testing centres have been closed. Lateral flow devices are no longer freely available and parents are advised that they should not be regularly testing their children for covid-19.

Staff will still need to isolate if they test positive but can return on the 6th day of isolation.

If you have any further questions, regarding the change in guidance, please contact the school office: schooloffice@gayton.wirral.sch.uk

Thank you for your continued support,

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs McAleny
