Welcome back to school

5th September 2022
Dear parents/carers,

It has been lovely to welcome our children back to school this week. They are all starting to settle into their new classes and learn the new routines for their class. A very special welcome to all our new F2 families. We are looking forward to working with you all over the next seven years of your child's primary school journey.

Homework for Y1-Y6- Homework will commence on Friday 16th September 2022. However in the meantime, we would still like children to be reading at home.

Google Classroom- We will be working on moving all the children into their new classes and setting up a new Google classroom space. We will update parents when this has been completed so that you will be able to start accessing Google classroom again for children in Years 1-Year 6.

PE days- These have been sent home for Year 1- Year 6 today. We have not provided F2 days for PE yet and will do this once all the children are in school full time. Your child should wear their PE kit to school on the days outlined. If we change these days for any reason, we will of course update you.

Dates:
We will be holding an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning session) for parents at 1:30pm on Tuesday 27th September 2022. This session will be run by our OPAL mentor (Ben Twaill) who will be able to provide parents with a more detailed overview of the programme. This will then be followed by an OPAL play session outside with your child. This would be particularly valuable for our F2 parents but also for any other parents who weren't able to come along to the last OPAL open afternoons that we held or if you are just genuinely interested in outdoor play and learning.

Newsletter: The first newsletter of the academic year will be sent home next week.

Parking: Please can I remind all parents that it is vital that they park with care and consideration in the local area. Please don't block the driveways of our neighbours and please can parents not park opposite the school as this means that families can cross safely.

Thank you for your continued support,

Kind regards,
Mrs McAleny
